The Role of Key Workers in the NDIS

In the context of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in Australia, Key Workers play a vital role in ensuring that participants receive the support they need. They help NDIS participants and their families by:

Planning and Coordination:

  • Assisting in the planning and coordination for upcoming NDIS reviews and to assist in the building of the following NDIS plan tailored to the participant’s unique needs and goals.
  • Coordinating with NDIS service providers to ensure seamless delivery of supports and services leading up to a NDIS review meeting.

Navigating the NDIS System:

  • Assisting participants in understanding and navigating the NDIS processes, including plan reviews and funding applications.
  • Providing guidance and support to access appropriate services and supports that meet their child’s needs utilising appropriate budgets.

Advocacy and Support:

  • Advocating for participants’ rights and needs within the NDIS framework.
  • Supporting participants in making informed decisions about their care and support options.
